About

David and Paula McAfee on Rainbow Trail

Our Story…

David has served in many areas which include serving as an officer in the USMC, law enforcement, information technology, sales and more importantly ministry.  He has been a Minister of Single Adults, Minister of Education and Senior Pastor in Lubbock, TX and recently Tucumari, NM.  David received a Bachelor of Arts in Law Enforcement Administration, a Master of Arts in Political Science, and has one semester left to complete a Master of Divinity degree.  Paula was formerly an executive secretary with Occidental Petroleum, Oklahoma University College of Continuing Education, and Texas Tech University Law School.

Sangre de Cristo Journal is a collection of postings about seminary life in the Sangre de Cristo mountains and is not endorsed by the Seminary, although I think they like it.  Hopefully it will give prospective students a better feel for what a non-traditional seminary atmosphere is like and provide some meaningful information that the Seminary website does not provide.

Quote of the Week

Trifles Which God Gives

“The emperor Augustus, in his great feasts, gave trifles to some—but gold to his favorites.
Just so—honors, riches and worldly pleasures are the trifles which God gives to the worst of men.
God gives His gold—His special love and grace—only to His people.”
- Thomas Brooks Heaven on Earth 1667

  1. God has sent you to SdC, to reveal to you His Glory, and to reveal to us the beauty of His Universe. I have read your messages and look forward to hearing the expanded version. We have some family in Colorado, but have not seen it through your eyes, as God reveals it. May He enrich your life in the days to come and prepare you for filling us with His Gospel. We pray for you and wish you well.
    In Christ,
    Bud & Mary

  2. Well hello! It is good to hear from you!

We are in awe of God’s abundant mercy to us in bringing us here. The school work is pretty demanding, but the peripheral benefits are great! …not to mention the long term benefits!

  3. Hi David and Paula:
Just wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas. I am busy preparing for our Christmaseve service. We will be having our community worship on Jan 3rd at 6:00 PM. John will be preaching and Rick wil be doing the music. I will either have the opening or closing prayer.
Patricia’s knee surgery went well and she is about fully recovered. Getting ready for “mountain living.” I will be retiring in June at our Annual Conference at Gloritia, NM.
    God’s Blessing,
    Serving Him.
    Tom

  4. David,

I have been trying to locate you guys for over a year. I got a Christmas card in ’08 but lost the address. I tried everything I could think of. I could not remember Dena’s name, although I knew she loved in Co. Springs not too far from my daughter.

How long have you been in West Cliff? Some good friends of ours have a cabin there, we have visited on several occassions.

Please have Paula email me or call me. The number is 521-8566 (she knows the area code).

Thank you, and Blessings to you and my friend, Paula.

    Eva
