Church Discipline and Peacemakers Ministries

We just finished our Biblical Conflict Resolution class and it was excellent.  Our instructor was Dr. David Edling, a humble and wonderful guy whose love for the Lord and keeping peace in the church is exemplary.  We had to read two books:  The Peacemaking Pastor by Alfred Poirer and The Peacemaker by Ken Sande.  Both were excellent books the detail the importance of church discipline and how it’s primary goal is to give glory to God and bring about the reconciliation of God.  Both books were loaded with Scripture and practical principles for not only the Pastor and elders but for everybody.  While the Sande book is more pastoral, each book challenges churches and their leaders to follow Biblical texts in dealing with conflict.  I highly recommend any pastor or elder to immerse themselves in this training.
